Auditory Sciences to Demonstrate Products for the Hard-of-Hearing and Deaf Communities at ATIA’s Chicago Conference

November 1, 2011, Northfield, MN – Auditory Sciences, LLC., the developer of suite of communications products for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities, announced today that they will be demonstrating their complete line of products at the upcoming ATIA (Assistive Technology Industry Association) conference and providing examples of how they are being used in educational and workplace settings. With these products, speech is instantly transcribed, displayed, and if desired, translated to a second language. As one example, students that are Hard-of-Hearing are combining a wireless microphone with Interact-AS to generate an instant transcript of classroom conversations. This provides a direct and low cost alternative to other approaches such as remote CART services. The ATIA conference will be held Nov 3-5, 2011 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, which is located just outside of Chicago, IL. The products will be demonstrated in CaDan’s Technology for Education booth, which is booth 419. Stop by the booth to register for a free copy of Interact-AS plus a Spanish Translation Module.

In addition to the demonstrations, on Thursday, November 4th at 8 AM, Robert Palmquist, President & CEO of Auditory Sciences’ parent company SpeechGear, will be giving a presentation titled, Classroom Inclusion of Students that are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, and at 3 PM that same day he will be giving a presentation titled, Supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing Individuals in the Workplace.
